A fun event for the entire family to celebrate 4th of July, held the first Saturday in July between the hours of 10a and 4p.

* Take a ride in GSRM's historic cabooses on the caboose train.

* Tour GSRM exhibits and visit with volunteers.

* Enjoy a hot dog and ice cream bar with paid admission.

* Other fun family activities to be announced.

GSRM's historic caboose train consists of a variety of cabooses ranging in age from Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range C-25 built in 1900 to Milwaukee Road 992147 built in 1956. The train is powered by one of GSRM's two operating diesel electric locomotives Electro-Motive Corporation model SW-1 number NSP4 or American Locomotive Co (Alco) model S-4 number FW-1.
Other cabooses on display, but not open to the public at this time are:- Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Drover's Car number 14534 - built 1871- Minneapolis & St Louis number 1201 - built 1946Wisconsin Central (Soo Line) number 99114 - built 1911

Admission for the "Celebrate 4th of July with GSRM" event is:

$10 for Adults

$5 for Children under 16

FREE for children 2 and under

Admission includes:

* Unlimited rides on GSRM's Caboose Train

* FREE Meal - Hot Dog, Ice Cream Bar, Bottle of Water

* Tours of other historic rail cars on display

* Exhibits inside the "depot"
