Volunteers Are Building Gopher State Railway Museum!

The mission of Gopher State Railway Museum is to educate the public through collection, preservation, restoration, display, and operation of railroad equipment and artifacts.

What if I'd like to visit at a time the Museum isn't scheduled to be open?

GSRM is open 10am to 3pm the first Saturday of the month, May through October.  If you'd like to visit us on another day, you have a few options.

• Schedule a visit - call 952-758-8729 to schedule an appointment.  Becuase our volunteers have fulltime jobs,  Saturday or Sunday are the days we can accomodate you.
• Do you live in the area?  Volunteers are working most Saturdays and love to show visitors around.  Drop by, if you see cars in the parking lot, there's most likely some volunteers on site.  They'll be happy to open up the equipment and show you around.

Do you have a small group that would like to schedule a visit?  With some advance notice, volunteers can meet you on a Saturday or a Sunday and show you around including a train ride if the equipment isn't down for maintenance and qualified crew members are available.  Call 952-758-8729 to schedule a small group tour.

At this time, a small group of 15-20 people is the largest we can really accomodate.  If you have a larger group, please don't be discouraged.  Call 952-758-8729 to discuss how we can accomodate your group.

2022

Covid-19 Update -

GSRM is planning to be open for the 2022 season, depending on the situation in May and current CDC guidance.  Check back for updates or follow us on Facebook.

(Planned) Hours for 2022 Season

For the 2022 Season, GSRM plans to be open regularly scheduled hours as follows:

The first Saturday of the month from 10am to 3pm between May and October.

GSRM plans to  also be open Saturday during New Prague's Dozinky Days celebration:
